Acrylic on canvas - (20 x 16ins)
Set around the mid fifties this scene depicts the now defunct railway from Newry to Warrenpoint, thanks to the Dr Beeching cuts in the sixties when alleged uprofitable branch lines were axed.
Had this line been kept or given to a railway preservation society it would probably be running at a good profit now, particularly if steam locomotives were involved. Now the road is a fast dual carriageway with traffic whizzing past beautiful scenery.
